Training and Practice Frequency

Just the other day, I was talking with a coach that said he practiced his girls U12 team 4 times a week for 2 hours each time.  That didn't include the club training or the conditioning that they were also required to attend.  It got me thinking; "Do I need to train my teams more often?"  After consulting the USYSA development model, I decided we're right on track with where we need to be.  I'll save you some searching and post what they recommend for the U12-U14 age group.

As you can see,  we train about 3 days a week.  Of course, it will always depend on game schedules and tournaments, but I don't want to burn our girls out.  We'll continue on this track unless I see something that needs addressing.  Thanks for your support parents.

  4. Find Scoring Lanes
  5. Team Unity
  6. Consistency
  7. Positive Results
Remember, to earn your key chain/zipper pull you need to memorize each of these and be able to recite them back to me.
